The innovative solution for unloading uneven stacked boxes from containers.
Due to the increase in e-commerce, we see more and more variation in the dimensions of cartons in containers. There is no standardization in e-commerce and boxes are often made based on the size of the product. Because of this large variety, the unloading speed decreases with manual unloading. For this purpose Copal has developed a new gripper.
Operation
The PushPlate is mounted on the manipulator and is controlled by the software of the C2 Container Unloader. The PushPlate consists of 8 extendable modules equipped with 4 vacuum cups, each with their own support plate, various sensors and 2 height indicating lasers.
After the PushPlate is positioned the necessary modules extend, pushing the suction cup against the product. In order to handle differences in depth between boxes, each module is operated independently.
After creating a vacuum, the suction cup sections are lifted creating a space under the boxes. The support plates are send out, after which the vacuum cups are retracted to pull the boxes onto the support plates. Once the boxes are on the plates, the PushPlate with boxes is moved to the deposit conveyor, after which the support plates retract, the vacuum is released and the boxes are dropped on the drop off conveyor.
Applications
The PushPlate is used to unload containers filled with uneven stacked boxes containing all types of goods.
